Two Left #Feet?

Do you (or your fiance) have two left feet?  Are you nervous about that first dance?

A few lessons can make a big difference in making you comfortable.  You should choose a style of dance that fits with who you are as a couple - just because the most well known wedding dance is a waltz, that doesn't mean that you have to do it at your wedding. Visit a studio or a local social dancing venue, and see what style of dancing appeals to the two of you.  You're going to be dancing for a whole song, so whatever you choose should be something that you find fun.

I have personally seen first dances that were the Jr. High slow dance (rock back and forth in a circle), Waltz, Foxtrot, East Coast S, Lindy Hop, Tango, Blues and Cha Cha.  Pretty much all of them were a success, because the people dancing were having a good time.

Finding an instructor who knows how to teach you to move in a wedding dress is helpful (one of those extra things you might not think of on your own).

One local Sacramento Studio with a large selection of dance styles, and good instructors is Spotlight Ballroom/Midtown Stomp.  They offer group and private lessons in a variety of styles.

Local Wedding Shows

Looking to find great wedding resources all in one place?  A wedding show is really a great opportunity.  You may not find exactly what you're looking for, but you will probably find great ideas, and you may make up your mind about what you DON'T want.

Local Fairs Coming up:

Bay Area Wedding Fairs - Pleasanton
(Apr 19, 2015)
Folsom Bridal Show
(Apr 26, 2015)
Amador Wedding Faire
(May 3, 2015)
Bay Area Wedding Fairs - Concord
(May 17, 2015)
Chico Bridal Show
(Aug 16, 2015)
Folsom Bridal Show
(Aug 30, 2015)
The Sonoma Wedding Show
(Sep 13, 2015)

It might be as simple as discovering just how much that professional DJ is REALLY going to cost, when your cousin has been throwing a mean party for years.  Or you discover just how amazing having someone else be in charge can be, and you HAVE to have that, no matter the cost...

There are different offerings at every fair, but generally, what you will find is some event planners, some people who can make a mean cake (and other fabulous food), decorators and party rentals, flower vendors, dress sales and tux rentals, venue and music people, and anyone who could possibly help to make your day more beautiful, pampered, or extravagant.

The bigger the event, the more variety and choice of exhibitors (and the more freebies) you'll be greeted with.
